As part of the presidential visit led by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, a Business Forum and business meetings of companies were organized at the Serbian Chamber of Commerce on November 21, 2022.
In order to strengthen bilateral economic relations, the economic potential of Azerbaijan, the benefits of cooperation with the ALAT Free Economic Zone and the possible directions of cooperation with the Free Zone Pirot were presented.
Free Zone Pirot and ALAT signed a memorandum of cooperation in April 2022, and currently there are two directions of further development of cooperation, the consideration of the conditions for obtaining the Safe Zone certificate of the World Free Zones Organization of and the exchange of experience regarding paperless business in free zones, especially for import-export of goods.
Azerbaijani companies from the fields of energy, investment, telecommunications, infrastructure, chemical and metal industry attended the forum to which opportunities for doing business in the Free Zone Pirot were presented.
