Panel discussion on Free Zones at the international scientific conference in Subotica
Free zones of Serbia have proven to be a successful instrument of regional development of Serbia and have recorded significant results when it comes to attracting new investments and supporting companies operating in them and which have achieved significant results in the economy of the Republic of Serbia.
Due to the current global crises, many challenges await us in the coming period. Crises have caused disruptions in the global market, and supply chains have shown their weaknesses and the need for suppliers to be located closer to customers. Therefore, we can expect the dislocation of certain companies in the region of Southeast Europe, especially suppliers of European companies, and free zones must welcome them with ready infrastructure and facilities.
In order to be ready for new challenges, it is necessary to strengthen the cooperation of free zones with local governments and state bodies on the construction of industrial infrastructure - some of the conclusions of the panel "Free Zones in Serbia and Regional Economic Development" held on 20.05.2022. within the XXVII International Scientific Conference "Strategic Management and Decision Support Systems in Strategic Management" at the Faculty of Economics in Subotica.
