The city of Pirot and the municipality of Troyan from Bulgaria launched an initiative on the establishment and development of friendly and partnership relations in the promotion of business and investment opportunities and the establishment of cooperation of common interest - tourism, pharmacy, agriculture, food industry, textile industry, wood industry and furniture making, education, culture, sports, European projects, sustainable development.
The hosts of the Pirot delegation were the president of the municipality of Troyan, Ms. Donka Mihajlova, and the president of the assembly of the municipality of Troyan, Mr. Petko Penkov. The delegation of the city of Pirot was represented by the mayor of Pirot – Mr. Vladan Vasić, MSc, the CEO of the Free Zone Pirot – Mr. Vladimir Ilić and the director of the Pirot Gymnasium High School - Mr. Vladica Tošić, PhD. The importance of partnership and friendly relations was discussed, with the expressed desire to continue the development of those relations through joint projects, in accordance with the strategic determination of Serbia and Bulgaria to strengthen neighborly ties.
The informational business forum attracted interested companies and entrepreneurs from the municipality of Troyan and the area of Loveč. Mayor Vladan Vasić, MSc, presented all the benefits of doing business in Pirot and the possibility of joint European projects. Vladimir Ilić, director of the Free Zone, introduced the forum participants to the possibilities and benefits of investing and doing business in the Free Zone Pirot.
During the visit to Troyan, the delegation from the city of Pirot visited the textile company "Kalinel", which works for the famous retail chains "IKEA", "JYSK", "METRO", the Museum of Folk Crafts and Applied Arts, the institution of "National Exhibition of Arts and Crafts" and the Troyan Monastery.
The participants of the initiative "Bridges of cooperation Pirot-Troyan" laid the foundations for further cooperation with this visit, primarily on connecting companies and economic institutions, exchange of experience, attraction of investments as well as cooperation in all areas of common interest.
